Relatively close. 28 Days Later is a strong film with a decent storyline and hamfisted acting. Hot Fuzz is very funny at times, but other times falls flat on its face. I give the nod to 28 Days Later for being a stronger film in most departments, and the fact that Hot Fuzz was done better in Shaun of the Dead.

Horror vs Comedy. 28 Days for me. The first time I watched that movie it left me with this really heavy feeling of dread. Freaky movie. Not really scary, just freaky . . . and memorable.
