Damn, I made the mistake of thinking that the "love" between Harold and Maude was purely platonic, so the scene of the two of them in bed together kind of threw me for a loop. My whole view of the film went from "it's sweet" to "it's disturbing" in a matter of seconds. I'd say a Nazi's face melting off is considerably less gross to watch, so Raiders of the Lost Ark is an easy winner here.

It's a shame that quirky but brilliant films like Harold and Maude can't draw audiences in their first run and have to become cult favorites. Great film.
