El Topo vs. Road to Perdition

I don't know... gunmen on a journey (with a kid)? I just rewatched El Topo, and I'm still not sure how to approach it with human words. In terms of striking imagery, it mops the floor with Road to Perdition. I don't think a scene went by where I wasn't something in the neighborhood of bewildered. Road to Perdition's easier to get a handle on, and fairly entertaining, but it's not an experience like El Topo. Then again, I can only say that I'm entertained by El Topo for roughly half the movie. The other half... I'm not so sure. If I was on a desert island and had to choose one of these for my sole source of mental stimulation, though, El Topo would be it. There's a good mixture of irritation, horror, beauty, and WTF? in there to keep me sharp. Or cause me to flip my lid.

El Topo. I saw it over two weeks ago and it’s been stuck in my head ever since! Such a well made and interesting movie!
