I've seen L'Eclisse twice now. Monica Vitti is hot, and there are many lovely compositions throughout the film. That I know for sure. But what the hell is with that African tribal dance scene? Sure, Vitti looks striking painted brown and wielding a spear, but what was the point? Anyway, L'Eclisse is a movie that seems to appeal to me almost on a subliminal level because I'm still not quite sure what to make of it. Whip It is nowhere near as mysterious, and could probably use a little mystery to spice it up. Or more blood. I'll go with L'Eclisse, but I need to watch it yet again. The fact that I actually want to rewatch it must count for something.
