Shadow of a Doubt isn't bad, but it's definitely one of Alfred Hitchcock's lesser films. North by Northwest wins for being one of Hitchcock's funniest and most action-packed movies.
Not really two of my favorite Hitchcock's. NxNW wins this one easy...

North by Northwest is the superior Hitchcock film.

I love the Shadow of a Doubt, but NXNW is the fourth movie that rounds out my Mt. Rushmore of Hitchcock films: Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, and NXNW.

Very close but I think North By Northwest is slightly better.
