Venom vs. Spider-Man

I’m going to get the ball rolling (couldn’t think of a Spider pun so I’m going with that) in terms of this matchup. Venom is just meh. It’s neither good or bad. It’s just very weak. My complaints have to do with the character of Eddie Brock, the dialogue and pacing but there’s not a lot to make me hate it. Spider-Man is one of the best origin stories out there and Venom, to me, felt like a mediocre attempt to redo what made that film work.

Spider-Man is so much better. Venom was just terrible, except for Tom Hardy's performance.
