It's Such a Beautiful Day vs. The Waterboy

Surprisingly, two films that actually made me cry given how absurd each is. I think The Waterboy resonated with me much more than most because of the Son-Mother and Son-Estranged Father relationships depicted in the film and Bobby Boucher's perseverance in becoming his own person in the face of all of it. It was a bit close to home. It's Such A Beautiful Day is a lot to take in - literally, like what feels like hundreds of ridiculous and terrible experiences that ultimately tell a soul-shaking story. It's a lot of art. If I had to go with what I would watch again, it would be The Waterboy, in an instant, but It's Such a Beautiful Day is like a car crash you can't forget that you saw. I guess that has to mean something.
