Quiz Show vs. The Shawshank Redemption

With movies from 1994 like The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King and Forrest Gump taking up so much of the praise nowadays, Quiz Show has become a bit forgotten. It's too bad because it's really quite good. It's not on the level of The Shawshank Redemption, but it's certainly on the same level as recent Best Picture Oscar winners like Argo, The Artist, The King's Speech, etc. It's just too bad for Quiz Show that 1994 was such a stellar year for movies.

Quiz Show is a decent movie, but it isn't a classic, in my humble opinion. Just Oscar bait... Its subtext is prevalent, though. Shawshank Redemption, on the other hand, is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time and holds the prestigious #1 spot on IMDb's Top 250 Films of All Time list.

Out of IMDb, and Flickchart, nobody talk about The Shawshank Redemption. It's nice.

Quiz Show is great, but no way do I pick it over Shawshank...
