Both were terrible TV adaptations.

Both were actually great adaptations of their source material. Get Smart had everything it needed from the show to satisfy the fans (Including me) and Speed Racer took a bad cartoon and made into something that was actually entertaining even if you strip out the effects.

Speed Racer is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in a theater. Get Smart is mediocre and therefore much better.
