Two of Hitchcock's best. Robert Donat gives a great performance as the falsely accused Hannay in The 39 Steps but the sheer beauty of Grace Kelley and the back and forth mind games pull a victory for Dial M for Murder.
Dial M For Murder is more complex, thus making it more intriguing. It wins.
Neither are near my favorite Hitchcock, but I'll go with he 39 Steps...
I'd say the 39 Steps is more fun
Both great films but i would chose The 39 Steps
THE 39 STEPS is very nearly my favorite Hitchcock; I have at #2 behind REAR WINDOW at the moment. I dig DIAL M FOR MURDER, but it's not even a top 10 Hitchcock for me.
