Two big dumb action movies that I appreciate for their dumbness. The Rise of Cobra knows it is absurd and runs with it (unlike its own sequel, which takes itself way too seriously). Battleship was Peter Berg channelling Michael Bay, with slightly more cohesion. There was something about it that I appreciated and enjoyed, in all its stupidity. Anyway, I've probably wasted more characters than either of these deserves, especially since this is coin-toss close. Battleship wins for better VFX.

I actually genuniy enjoyed Rise of Cobra, while I didn't care for Battleship that much. There's just too many absurd details.

Don't really like either. I'll take Rise of the Cobra.
