Biopics about French heroes. Actually, I don't know how much of a hero Serge Gainsbourg was based on the movie. He did date Brigitte Bardot, which is something to be admired. (NOTE: The chick who played Bardot in the movie didn't much resemble her.) The Messenger has Milla Jovovich as Joan of Arc. I never felt like she was Joan of Arc. I think that part where they storm the fortification is pretty cool, regardless. The rest of the movie was eh. Gainsbourg was kind oh, too. I think The Messenger is the only Luc Besson movie that I don't hate (that I've seen). Gainsbourg has already left my memory.
