The Cranes are Flying is a beautiful, stylish film with an enchanting lead actress. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia is gritty and violent, centering around the transportation of a severed head. This is one of those matchups that I've never considered. The two movies sort of exist in different parts of my soul. As much as I appreciate the dark, brutal humor of Garcia, I have to go with the poetic war film.
