I just Barry Lyndon yesterday/today for the first time and I really liked it. I just got done rewatching 2001 and this time I really liked it. The first time I did not. I'll give the slight edge to 2001.

Beautiful masterpieces. 2001 wins as its Kubrick's best, but it is close.

Two of the most visually beautiful films ever made. Barry Lyndon is more poignant but 2001 is more philosophically ambitious. I may slightly prefer 2001 for personal reasons.

Very possibly the two best Kubricks. Barry this time.

I;m actually going to switch my decision. Barry Lyndon is Kubrick's grand masterpiece. 2001 is a close 2nd.
Both possibly Kubrick meh.
