The two ultimate epics. Tough choice, tough choice.

David Lean vs Akira Kurosawa. Somehow I knew this day would come. Seven Samurai for me because of how influential it is. Plus Toshiro Mifune is hilarious and heart breaking as Kukichiyo.

Very close but just Seven Samurai

Seven Samurai. It deserves the title of ''greatest movie ever made''

Lawrence as it is far more complex and deep. Seven Samurai is a great film, seeing as it entertained me for about four hours without getting bored. However, Seven Samurai's story isn't really THAT great. All that really happens is some villagers get 7 samurai to protect their village from bandits and then they beat the bandits but some of the samurai die. That's the whole plot, and though it's executed very well, and introduced great characters, Lawrence is one of the most visually outstanding films of its time and makes you think more about the actions of each of the peoples.

Ah, two long and glorious epics. Riveting from first frame to last, with a few minor patchy sequences. Nevertheless, they're both special and wonderful filmmaking on their own level. Seven Samurai wins.
