Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor have to make one of the most beautiful couples in motion picture history in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and they both act up a storm, Newman especially, but the screenplay neuters the story as told in Tenessee Williams's original play. There's nothing at all neutered about All About Eve, and the performances by Bette Davis, Anne Baxter, and George Sanders are as good as or better than anything in Cat.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof isn't bad, but it is a thoroughly unpleasant film to watch. All About Eve is at least some fun.
Loved both. All About Eve is underrated.
