Wow!!!! This is like asking which one of my two sons I love more! Why are you so cruel flickchart?

If these two were my sons, I'd have to choose Dark Knight as my favorite. That's not to say I don't like my son Zodiac--it's among my top 50 favorite kids.

Dark Knight all the way.

The Dark Knight... barely.

..... Fincher should direct Batman some day.

Both are in my top 20 but The Dark Knight is a little higher.

Zodiac. just because no one has voted for it. I love both

My head says zodiac but my heart says the Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight by far

Zodiac gets my vote.

Zodiac all the way.

The Dark Knight. Infinitely less convoluted.

I have to disagree with my brother Square. Not only is Zodiac less convoluted/contrived, it manages to stay that way while covering decades and decades of data and information. TDK, while a favorite, is the definition of overplotting.

If Zodiac was shorter, maybe it would win. Great story, but a snoozfest

love zodiac

Zodiac is a better film.

TDK...but it's close...

Zodiac is an extremely gripping story that never lets up, making the audience more and more frustrated, just like the characters. We slowly become obsessed with finding anything that could lead to a definitive answer to the Zodiac killer's identity, but we find nothing but possible suspects. But even with all that, Zodiac doesn't quite live up to TDK, even if I like it more

Over time I've grown to start questioning this mindset. I think Zodiac is a more meticulously plotted story. It manages to cover decades of time, is incredibly subtle in its messaging, yet clear enough for people to understand it. It's beautifully directed, well acted, incredibly nuanced and layered, and one of the most suspenseful movies in the 21st century. That basement scene...damn. That being said, The Dark Knight has quite a lot to offer as well. Unlike the other two movies in his resume, this one doesn't suffer from Nolan's annoying habit of overexplaining himself, and he's able to be subtle along with his more blatant dialogue. The story is excellently paced, the acting is excellent, the characters are complex and full of depth, the themes are grounded in reality and transcend the screen, and it's incredibly memorable and relevant in our world. In terms of which is better, I currently have Zodiac higher as I believe it to be a basically perfect movie with virtually no flaws whatsoever. The Dark Knight, as great as it is, doesn't get the same love from me. But this could change soon
