Lolita gets my vote
Spartacus was a bloated, overlong mindless proto-blockbuster. Lolita was a well-acted, well-directed masterpiece, and it seems like the origin of the Kubrick genius. It takes its time, but that's fine. As long as it's not some mindless bloated shit, I'm happee.
