The Conjuring vs. Session 9

Decisions, decisions. It's been some time since I saw Session 9 and although it's eerie and features one particularly creepy section in a basement (if I'm not mistaken), The Conjuring really impressed me. It borrows a bit more than it needs to from other films and the last fifteen minutes or so are just louder and brasher than they need to be (see Insidious...), but as a package it somehow came together for me.
