The Friends of Eddie Coyle vs. Glengarry Glen Ross

Appropriate matchup, similar themes. Aging, workaday schmoes trying to get by in a cannibalistic system that is through with them and has no patience for softness, slowness, or sentimentality. Eddie Coyle is the more ambitious, artful movie, and is more quietly acted, but I don't think it's as solid a narrative as Glengarry. Coyle has a harder time finding its heart and its focus, I think, even if all in all I'd rather rewatch it than Glengarry.
