Arrival is better in every possible way... I still love Interstellar and its cheesiness
Interstellar gets so much hate, but for me it was one of the best movies that I've ever seen in theaters. It may not have held up as well when you don't get to watch it on such a big scale, but it's definitely an achievement in visual effects. Arrival at one point was in my top 100 until I saw a few films that pushed it out. It has its moments but I don't regard it as highly.

Arrival, while not exactly 2001: A Space Odyssey, is a more subtle film than Interstellar I suppose---but that's the point. Interstellar is an overwhelming, sweeping film to surrender yourself to. A film of nearly unprecedented ambition, at least for big budget, mainstream cinema. To watch Interstellar is to watch a flawed film, but a grand, emotionally seductive experience unlike almost anything else.
My favourite films of their respective years but Interstellar wins here. It blew me away when I first saw it and continues to every time I watch it.
I'd say Arrival gave me a bit more to think about afterwards...

Interstellar but Arrival is growing on me.
Interstellar is absolutely fantastic. I know Arrival has a lot of fans, but I've never been crazy about it.

Can't really choose one..... both of em tells about love loss humanity in a very unique and emotional way
I love Interstellar and I never could embrace Arrival.
