This one has me flummoxed. Both surprised me, but Chronicle seems to have a deeper story. I'm just loving the action in Man of Steel. Chronicle.
Chronicle, for all its flaws, has much more interesting, believable characters and better performances. Consequently it comes off as more relatable and more energised. Man of Steel has its moments, but is, for the most part, a lacklustre, unengaging experience. Chronicle wins.

I absolutely loved Chronicle! One of my faves from 2012. Man of Steel did get a lot of hate, and I really liked it. Chronicle wins.

Chronicle because it has better humor, more sympathetic characters, and much better camerawork. I'm still amazed how a $12 million found footage movie managed to have LESS shaky cam than the $225 million blockbuster.
