Weird, supernatural Fulci zombie madness! Both of these films feature moments of spooky greatness and ridiculous gore nestled in plots that don't really care if they make any sense or not. City of the Living Dead has far more engaging characters, and its creepy crypt climax is definitely better than the tedious hospital siege in The Beyond, but other touches in the latter are just so much more frightening and creative, one too many eye trauma gags aside. It's really a very close race.

Tough one but I'm going for City of the Living Dead. They're both absolutely bonkers with pretty ropy acting but they're good fun and I'm a total sucker for practical effects. City wins though, it has a better story and the hospital stuff in The Beyond does drag a bit.
