Life of Pi vs. Life of Brian

Two films with heavily religious themes, but with very different outlooks. Life of Brain's outlook is that you should think independently and not just blindly follow something that shouldn't be blindly followed. Life of Pi's outlook is that you should just blindly believe the craziest thing because it sounds better than facing the truth about reality. If you ask me, that's a fucking awful message. I'm an atheist, but that doesn't stop me from admiring religious works, take Dogma for example. But holy shit is Life of Pi overrated. It's tone is inconsistent with it's narrative, the character experiences a bunch of crazy shit without going through any kind of arc, and there's the deeper meaning, which is just flat-out explained to us without letting the audience figure it out for themselves. Do they think we're fucking stupid or something? Life of Brian is one of the greatest comedies ever made, clever and intelligent, with so many memorable scenes. It's a no-brainer, folks.

You speak the truth, Me!
