I'm going to say Life of Pi as I feel there is more to it. Plus the cinematography is beautiful.
The two movies are obviously quite similar, but Life of Pi is so much more profound.

Life of Pi is a tremendous film. Cast Away is awful. Hanks created this film to see if people would be willing to sit in a theater for 2 and a half hours watching one actor. Most egotistical thing in the history of film.

Life of Pi is entertaining but Cast Away is the better movie.

My initial thoughts after watching Life of Pi; Where Cast Away fails, Life of Pi succeeds.
