Manhattan vs. Jazz on a Summer's Day

Woody Allen - well know jazz fan. Manhattan is a beautful elegy to Manhattan. There's so much about it to love, yet I find I can take Allen as a lead role for only so much time. Jazz on a Summer's Day is a treat. Watch the late 50s Newport set in full-on pomp watch Louis Armstrong and Thelonious Monk. It's a privliege to see this film and to be transported to that point in history. Manhattan is still winning, largely for the aching beauty of it.
