Before there was the 40 Year Old Virgin, there was the 31 Year Old Virgin. And I prefer Sandler's good-hearted but low IQ character to Steve Carrell's somewhat annoying borderline schlub. And The Waterboy is also refreshing for not being a southern comedy that condescends about "guns and religion". My mama said...mama said...my mama said...The Waterboy wins!
Eh... I'd have to say I prefer Carell's character, personally. He plays someone you can connect with or at least believe even if he does annoy you a bit, whereas Bobby Boucher is a cartoon. Just feels like Carell put more into it, making Andy more well rounded.
About as easy of a decision that can be made...
