In the Name of the Father vs. Rambo: First Blood Part II

Wrongly forgotten prisoners of war vs. wrongly accused political prisoners. In the Name of the Father is a gutwrenching and emotionally engrossing sort of movie. I'm always game to watch a flick that tackles injustice and hypocrisy, especially if it's actually good. I could understand Rambo's desire to go back and kick some ass for the US of A and bring some our boys back, but First Blood Part II is just so tacky. Yeah, Rambo fights the system and injustice, but he's nowhere near as dramatically convincing as Daniel Day-Lewis and Emma Thompson. It's all in the presentation. At least the original First Blood showed some restraint and poignancy.
