I felt more tension and suspense during the trying to pull one over on the motel desk clerk scene in Puffy Chair than I felt in all of Night of the Hunter. I don't really get the appeal of Hunter outside of a couple moments of cinematography; every aspect of it was pretty cringe-inducing. Which is kind of what I was expecting of Puffy Chair but it was actually good.

It's true, that hotel clerk "duel" WAS tense! There were quite a few moments of tension for a "mumblecore" movie, in fact.
