Kubo was so special. Simply a masterpiece of a film. Jungle book was good, not as good as the original though.

Kubo's story was exquisite, rendered beautiful with the gorgeous visuals and wonderful characters, and some very unusual discussion of life and death. Jungle Book offers fantastic visuals and a faithful recreation with some new sparks such as the twist on global warming, but did not offer the originality in story-telling of Kubo's film.

The Jungle Book is a great remake, but edge goes to the epic seriousness (at least compared to how most American cinematic animation gears towards rapid-fire colors and humor) of "Kubo"
