Following vs. Avatar

AVATAR, LIKE THE INDIANS.

The entire budget of Following wouldn't have covered the cost of catering on Avatar, yet Chris Nolan's clever storytelling somehow surpasses anything going on in James Cameron's mega-mega-blockbuster.

Both very good films. Avatar has some of the greatest and most awesome (which is an understatement) special effects I have ever seen, along with its good plot and metaphorical aspects. Props to James Cameron. However, Christopher Nolan's first and original film Following is a rare gem that caught me by surprise with its neo-noir, claustrophobic directing, and a plot that keeps you guessing until the jaw-dropping end. I'm going with Following on this one. Hands down.

Avatar, but I love Following.

While critics praised Avatar more for its visuals, The Following is a bigger accolade in filmmaking encapsulated by its meagre budget per se.
