Even early Thor had a more interesting personality than T'challa. We actually got to see Thor struggling to be a worthy ruler and it was more interesting than T'challa, who had barely any agency or impact on the plot of his own movie. The Thor movie is also far better paced and has better action and CGI. However, the African aesthetic makes BP less bland though, so that's my pick.
