The Last House on the Left vs. The People Under the Stairs

I saw the Last House on the Left remake before the original and ended up liking that one a lot more than the original, it's just not an enjoyable or entertaining film and I know it's not supposed to be, but I don't think it's well done enough to afford not to be either of those things, like some movies are. The People Under the Stairs though is a very underrated Wes Craven movie and so much fun and pretty much the opposite sort of atmosphere or Last House.
