This is a good matchup...at least for me. Whilst I enjoyed most of the technical aspects of the 1931 film, I didn't find the film suspenseful....at all! The sequel improved upon this greatly and whilst I also wasn't a fan of Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein, it was enjoyable. I didn't set high standards for Curse of Frankenstein though Lee and Cushing stole the show. It was much more suspenseful and whilst I prefer the way the story was told in the original more, I'll give Hammer a victory here.

Both are great but the Universal film is just so iconic I have to pick it.
