The Shawshank Redemption gets on my nerves, but Sweeney Todd is nearly unwatchable. I didn't like the songs, didn't care about the story and my attention was wandering toward the exit half way through. I can at least zone out to Shawshank, but Sweeney Todd is too loud and grating even for that.
Shawshank Redemption is more memorable with redeeming characters.

Shawshank Redemption, hands down is the better film.

Shawshank wins. I love Alan Rickman singing, I really do, but that's not enough to save Sweeney.
