Fear City could also be called "Boxer vs. Martial Arts Serial Killer" or "The Martial Arts Serial Killer Stripper Massacre". DOA: Dead or Alive is about ass-kicking women who don't always wear a lot of clothes, while Fear City is about strippers who get their asses kicked. I actually think DOA might be less cheesy than Fear City. Maybe because one of the conflicts in Fear City has to do with how Tom Brerenger is haunted by the memory of the guy he accidentally killed in the boxing ring. So, taking on the martial arts serial killer is his chance at redemption. DOA is totally not serious, and so the cheesiness isn't as silly. I guess DOA is more fun, but it's close.
