Frances Ha vs. Gosford Park

Thematically, two total opposites. I love Gosford Park as a period piece and although I avoided a great deal of Upstairs, Downstairs fare throughout my life, there was something that drew me to Gosford Park. It gave me a lot of little things that individually would be just okay and equaled something excellent. Frances Ha is the full complement of emotions that one experiences in the transition into adulthood. While I expected to roll my eyes all the way through, it only took about 20 minutes or so before I was compelled to dive in and see all of Frances wonderful, albeit realistic world. It was about the perfect balance of comedy and drama for me. For that, I give it the win.
