Hot Fuzz is one of the best comedies I know of, but Se7en is utterly brilliant. Win for Se7en.

Seven is trite, pseudo-intellectual, pretentious crap, and the fact that people call it brilliant makes me hate it beyond its merits. Not to mention Brad Pitt.

Hot Fuzz is one of the best comedies out there. But yeah, Se7en stomps. As for people calling it "trite, pseudo-intellectual, pretentious crap", did it ever occur to you that other people might like the movie and think it's brilliant? How does that, in any way, affect you?

It clearly has occured to him, he literally said that it bothers him. And how the movie is perceived by other people shouldn't be enough change your opinion. I prefer Hot Fuzz to Se7en, but regardless of your choice, that comment makes no sense.
