The Golden Compass is the most underrated fantasy film of the past ten years. That it flopped both critically and financially blew my mind. Not only is it an incredibly good film for children, adults can be equally entertained by it. It easily blows any of the Narnia out of the water and gives The Lord of the Rings films a good run for their money. Overall, I find it a better movie than Star Trek too. Many may disagree, but I find the origin story of Lyra Belacqua a lot more compelling than Captain Kirk's.
