Man, the 40's were awesome for movies! Rebecca gets the edge.

Rebecca had the far better story and performances. The Third Man can't compete...

This is so obvious. Of course The Third man. It has better cinematography, direction, story, themes and acting. And also what Rebecca doesn't even have and The Third man has is great use of shadow and on location footage in Wien, the great use of camera-ancles and symbolism, the great score and a great ending. I think I made my point. The Third man is one of the best films ever and an example how to make films unlike Rebecca is overall a mediocre film and overrated in public. Hitchcock is the best director of all time but Rebecca isn't one of his best films. Ok it has a good story and it's overall an entertaining film but that's not what cinema is about. You like good stories, go read book. But that doesn't weight much when you're rating a film and not necessarily in books either. After all this The Third man by 100 000 miles
