Both are near the bottom of my list really. They just don't hold up IMO, but M is far worse than Marty.

The ending of M is very forward thinking and mature for a film made in the early 30's. Very good the last 30 minutes. But It's not even close between the two Films for me. Marty is an all-time classic. The screenplay has so much rhythm, it's not like any other film.
