There are funny movies, and there are thought-provoking movies. The ones that attempt to make me think are almost always going to prevail over the ones that attempt to make me laugh. Upstream Color is no exception.
Upstream Color is a terrible, pretentious movie. It's may be one of the worst I've ever seen.
Upstream Color is a challenging film and, yeah, it is rather pretentious. I still want to see whatever Shane Carruth's next film is, though. But, yeah, This Is Spinal Tap is the superior movie here.
