A difficult choice, but a definitive one in the end. King Kong was good, and had me enthralled. But darker Knight was better, and had me entranced.

Not even close. As much as I dislike the hype around The Dark Knight, it's just far superior to King Kong, which is okay, but ultimately disappointing compared to Jackson's LOTR trilogy and the original King Kong from the 30s.

I think King Kong is an incredible accomplishment. I've never seen the old school King Kong and I don't think I ever will, so I walked into the cinema not really knowing what to expect for the most part and walked out in a state of Keanu Reeves 'whoa'. Problem is, The Dark Knight had the same effect only multiplied by 10.
The Dark Knight is far superior but King Kong was a decent remake.

King Kong was pretty good, but took WAAYYYY too long to get to the island (especially when you compare it to the original, or to Jurassic Park). TDK might not be as great as everyone thought when it came out, but it's an overall better flick

Dark Knight, because it didn't have Adrien Brody sleepwalking and cut to the chase much quicker.

I have to admit to liking King Kong more than the Dark Knight. If you think about how much Peter Jackson actually made King Kong look like a movie that was filmed in the 30's but in color and CGI...it's actually quite magical. King Kong for me.

Batman wins this easily. Kong was fun but DK was much more to offer than just being fun.
