The Apartment is a cruiserweight punching with a heavyweight in this matchup. Close, but not quite enough. The Godfather Part II wins.

Well I'm back to my 10,000th raking: I'll pick Part II but both are top 20. The Godfather Part II is almost unrivaled filmmaking and the rise of Vito Corleone, combined with the fall of Michael Corleone are both equally stunning. De Niro and Pacino at their near best.
I absolutely love The Apartment, but it's outmatched here.
