At the expense of sounding like a plebeian, the enjoyment factor for me personally was higher while watching Homecoming than it was while watching Deer Hunter. Could be the fact that Deer Hunter lingers for a long while before it actually becomes entertaining at an hour and 10 minutes in and after the Vietnam part is over it becomes an actually interesting, sad and complex movie but it is a bit too little too late. Yes, Homecoming didn't have as much somber moments as Deer Hunter but it was entertaining throughout the entirety of it's 2 hour runtime and that's kind of all I ask for? Truly unfortunate that I have to keep nailing the Deer Hunter down in the rankings, hopefully soon it will be up against a Sandler movie or something and I can bring it up.
