I love both of these movies for different reasons. But "Virgin" is epic-funny.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin is funny and has a sweet message, but The Social Network is inspiring, better made and easier to stomach. I'll go The Social Network.

The Social Network is a modern masterpiece, 40yov is good but definitely dips in the middle. Also, David Fincher is one of the all time great directors(or will be in 10-20 yrs) unlike Apatow whose films always drag.
the social network is my favorite david fincher film and is a complete masterpiece. Underrated in many ways, the acting is superb and the same can be said for the directing, music, writing and cinematography. A truly amazing film.

The Social Network was pretty good. The Virgin is a comedy that stands alone so it's the easy winner.
