Extract is one of those "painful" comedies, where all kinds of embarrassing and unfortunate things happen to an average, likable person. Jason Bateman experiences a number of indignities in Extract, but manages to maintain his decency in the end. His pain is comedy gold. Hostel is about torturing tourists. Some of it is darkly funny, but I'm not likely to watch it as often as Extract. There are no scenes in Hostel that I look back fondly on, exactly. I feel much fondness for Extract.
Really enjoyed both flicks. Extract gets the nod though...
All because of those bloody sweatpants! (Oh, and I'm really beginning to like Mila Kunis a whole lot.)
