Julie & Julia vs. As Good As It Gets

Two films with heavy amounts of critical acclaim at the time of their release. While I generally appreciate both Streep and Adams, Julie & Julia got on about every last nerve that I had, almost managing to undo all the affection and endearment that I had for the real life Julia Child. As Good As It Gets too endeavored to yank on the heart strings a bit too hard, but it overall came across as less forced. I'm more likely to go back to As Good As It Gets than I am to give Julie & Julia a second chance.
