Julie & Julia vs. Doubt

Two Streep/Adams pairings! This is one of those matchups where it's a case of the better film vs the movie I enjoy more, although really, it's only PARTS of Julie & Julia that I love; the stuff with Meryl Streep as Julia Child is fantastic, a comic delight, and if the movie were just a Child biopic this would be a much easier choice. Despite providing the film with its structure, the Julie sections bring it down, and Julie herself comes across as pretty unlikable, which is quite a feat, considering she's played by the adorable Amy Adams. Doubt is just a better movie on the whole, but the Julia side of Julie & Julia remains near and dear to my heart, so I'm keeping my current ranking — for now. It could change at any moment.
