As much as I love Godfather 2, E.T. made me fall in love with a puppet! If that's not great filmmaking, I don't know what is.

Better storytelling from the two Corleone's points of view. When they shoot across the street or when Michael's family is in danger, etc. E.T. Gets your heart but so does the Lawyer.
